Satisfy Three Categories From List Below and Claim Your O-1B Visa Today

O-1B Visa Critical Acclaim Editorial:

With this category, we jump straight into the official wording and, from there, we can look into the requirements a bit further:

A record of major commercial or critically acclaimed successes, as evidenced by such indicators as title, rating, or standing in the field, box office receipts, credit for original research or product development, motion picture or television ratings, and other occupational achievements reported in trade journals, major newspapers, or other publications;

This category offers US Immigration a look at your success through evidence of critical acclaim attributed to productions or events. Many O-1B applicants have been involved with great projects, even if they were not blockbusters financially, and this category allows you to leverage that achievement. Of course, those events that were box office hits would also be included in this category. Part of the evaluation of whether or not you will be satisfy this category will directly relate to how important your role was to production of event.

One of the best examples of a blockbuster film would be the Harry Potter series. If you had a film credit noting your lead or co-starring role in these films, we could make the argument that you satisfied this category as the Harry Potter films broke a number of box office records. Keep in mind that if you played a very minor role, it would be difficult to satisfy this unless we can show evidence that you were singled out for contributing to the success of the film. A good analysis of the O-1B visa will look for creative ways to satisfy the categories you need to qualify overall for the O-1B visa.

As noted above, there are smaller productions and events that may not be financial hits, but were widely acclaimed by critics. One example of widespread critical acclaim is ‘The Shawshank Redemption’, which is now widely regarded as one of the top ten films of the century. There are also are many productions that are only known to their target market in the arts that are highly regarded because of the column inches “critically acclaimed successes” that production has garnered. So, if you’ve played a leading role in front of or behind the camera or in production for a production or event that was widely acclaimed by critics or a box office success., then you may wish to explore this O-1B visa category further.

O-1B Visa Critical Acclaim Commentary:

Again, for many people who want a shot at this O-1B visa category, if you do not have the press today, you may be able to develop new press. The press is always scanning for newsworthy items, thus you’ve got to find ways to get their attention. There was a time where people had to perform some feat of skill to get press attention. Today, in the world of reality TV, there are now many people who are famous for (perhaps) quite discernible reasons. Today, you can be famous just for having a six-pack that’s marketed well.

Look at your career to date and see what projects you’ve worked on that have done well. Then review your relationship to that project to see if a reasonable claim could be made that part of the success was due to your contribution. We may be able to get some of your peers to write letters confirming this.

We hope you found this presentation not only informative but inspirational too. Our goal is to inspire our clients into action and continued success. Take some time to review our testimonials; we’re looking forward to adding many more. Maybe yours will be featured there one day, so you too can be an inspiration to others. We’ll be waiting for your call.

In the next presentation, we’re going to review the ‘Significant Recognition from Organizations, Critics and Experts’ category.
